Club Racing at Silverstone

I went down to check out the 750 Motor Club meeting at Silverstone this weekend, and was incredibly impressed.

Driving standards seem very very high, with close racing almost all the way through most grids. There’s also a lovely family atmosphere in the paddock, despite the racing being undoubtedly serious.

I’m interested in Formula Vee (below), but need to get a lot more tuition in before I jump in. Cannot wait!

National B race licence

I’ve now taken my first step into the racing world by gaining my National B race licence.

After a day learning Silverstone’s International circuit,  just about overcoming my urge to continually turn in early at Stowe corner and learning just how much grip a downpour takes away (a lot as it turns out!), I passed my ARDS test. It was insanely fun overtaking Ferraris and Astons (on experience days) through Abbey and Farm in the bright yellow Megane. Properly hooked!

Next step: getting some more tuition to make sure I’m faster (and safer!) before I go testing, and then racing!
